Terms of Submission

Effective: July 12, 2026

By submitting content to Ought-To-Biography, you agree to the following terms. If you do not agree, please do not submit.

1. Ownership & Originality

You represent that the content you submit is your own original work, or that you have all rights, permissions, and authority necessary to submit it under these terms. You retain ownership of your intellectual property rights, subject to the license you grant below.

2. License to Publish

You grant Ought-To-Biography a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use your submission for editorial, archival, promotional, and commercial purposes, including in digital and print formats. This license includes the right to:

• Publish, display, archive, and distribute your submission on digital and print platforms.
• Edit, format, excerpt, retitle, translate, adapt, and curate your submission in our editorial discretion, provided the substance of your contribution is not materially misrepresented.
• Include your submission in collections, books, anthologies, compilations, marketing materials, and derivative works related to the project.

This license continues for material already published, printed, distributed, or archived before a withdrawal request is processed.

3. Attribution

We will use reasonable efforts to credit you according to your chosen credit preference (full name, first name only, initials, pseudonym, or anonymous). You are responsible for providing accurate credit information.

4. Eligibility

• You must be at least 18 years old to submit content.
• You may not submit on behalf of another person unless you have full legal authority to do so.

5. Withdrawal

• You may request withdrawal of your submission at any time by contacting submissions@ought-to-biography.com.
• We will use reasonable efforts to remove withdrawn content from active publication within 30 days of confirming your request.
• Copies may remain in backups, archives, printed materials, prior distributions, internal records, and places where retention is required by law or reasonably necessary for recordkeeping.

6. Privacy & Retention

• Your legal name, email address, and contact details are stored for submission administration, editorial review, recordkeeping, and related project operations.
• We will not publish your private contact details unless you separately choose to make them public.
• We may retain unpublished submissions for ongoing editorial consideration, internal archive, future publication opportunities, compliance, and recordkeeping.
• We will not sell or rent your personal information.

7. Warranties, Responsibility & Indemnity

• You represent and warrant that your submission does not infringe any copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, confidentiality, or other rights of any person or entity.
• You represent and warrant that your submission is not defamatory, fraudulent, unlawful, misleading, harassing, or otherwise harmful.
• You agree to be responsible for your submission and to indemnify and hold harmless Ought-To-Biography and its operators from claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and expenses arising out of or related to your submission or your breach of these terms.

8. No Compensation / Commercial Use

Submissions are voluntary. No monetary compensation is provided unless separately agreed in writing. You acknowledge that Ought-To-Biography may use submissions in editorial, archival, promotional, and commercial projects, including websites, books, anthologies, and related publications.

9. Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability

Ought-To-Biography may accept, reject, edit, publish, unpublish, or archive submissions in its sole discretion. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ought-To-Biography is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or similar damages arising from or related to submissions, publication decisions, or use of the project.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Thailand. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or a submission will be subject to the courts of Thailand, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Submissions remain governed by the version of the terms in effect at the time of submission unless you expressly agree to a newer version.
